Occurs in pools, swamps and swampy parts of brooks in the rainforest and humid forested savanna. 9 cm TL (Ref. 3788). Parents die during dry season and eggs left in the mud hatch only when the waters return at the start of the next rainy season. Feeds on worms, crustaceans and insects (Ref. 7020). Bottom spawner, 3 months incubation. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
出現於水池, 淹沒與在雨林與潮溼的森林大草原中小溪的沼澤部份。 9 公分TL.(參考文獻 3788) 親魚在乾季的時候死而且卵留在只有當在下一個雨季的初始水流回復的時候，泥孵化。 吃蠕蟲，甲殼動物與昆蟲。 (參考文獻 7020) 底部產卵魚， 3 個月孵育時間。 在水族館非常難以維持。 (參考文獻 27139)
