Etymology: Favonigobius: Latin, favonius = gentle, propicious and Latin, favonianus = the west wind; 1656 + Latin, gobius = gudgeon (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Reiche (no forename given) collected the type. This possibly refers to a ‘M. Th. Reiche’ who was in the Civil Medical Service, Dutch East Indies, but nothing can be established with certainty. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
