背鰭 (合計) : 16 - 17; 臀鰭: 17 - 18. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: anal fin with irregular red-brown spots and stripes, creating two irregular submedial and medial bands and with broad yellow subdistal band; caudal fin with a slender light blue subdistal band, densely marked with irregular red spots, and narrow dark brown distinct distal margin; caudal peduncle length 153-161 in % of its depth; eye diameter 31-34% HL; and predorsal length 52.4-55.6% SL (Ref. 138275).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal; Cross section: oval.
This species inhabits a turbid pool, about 50 cm in depth, with margins partially overgrown by grass (Ref. 138275).
