Etymology: Rineloricaria: Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather; 1706 (Ref. 45335); nudipectoris: Name 'nudipectoris' from the Latin words 'nudus' and 'pectus', meaning 'bare' and 'breast', in reference to the absence of plates in the ventral portion of the pectoral girdle and anterior medial portion of the abdomen.

شعاع نرم باله پشتي (کل) : 7; شعاع نرم باله مخرجي: 5. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: plates in most of the skin of the ventral surface of the pectoral girdle absent; plates in the abdominal region absent; snout having an anterior area of exposed skin without odontodes extended laterally to the most anterior pore of the infraorbital ramus of the sensory canal; upper unbranched caudal-fin ray extending beyond the margin of the fin as a short filament; leading-edge pectoral-fin ray reaching pelvic-fin origin; spotted color pattern in the dorsal, pectoral, and pelvic-fin rays (Ref. 137778).
