Etymology: Dawkinsia: Named for Richard Dawkins, for his contribution to the public understanding of science and, in particular, of evolutionary science; austellus: 'austellus' (Latin), i.e., meaning south, referring to its type locality in southern India. Noun in apposition (Ref. 127046).
