Dorsale stekels (totaal) : 0; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal) : 11; Anale stekels: 0; Anale zachte stralen: 8. Diagnosis: This species is distinguished from its congener Luciobarbus nasus by the combination of following characters: a more rounded snout, although relatively elongated; a wider interorbital space; the ossified ray of the dorsal fin is shorter and weaker; and a shorter pectoral fin.
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
