Taxonomic Remarks
Previously in the synonymy of Halieutichthys aculeatus (Mitchill, 1818) (Ref. 50473). Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Sep. 2011: Ref. 88002) does not follow Ho et al. (2010: Ref. 85070). Incl. Halieutichthys smithii Evermann & Marsh, 1900.
