Etymology: Sternarchorhynchus: Greek, sternon = sternon, + Greek, archos = anus + Greek, rhyngchos = snout (Ref. 45335); starksi: Named for Edwin Chapin Starks of Stanford University, who in the early part of the twentieth century collected a portion of the series and who made a number of contributions to our knowledge of the anatomy of fishes.
