Etymology: Haploblepharus: haplos (Gr.), single or simple; blepharon (Gr.), eyelid, referring to simple structure of lower eyelid, which closes against upper eyelid to protect the eye (See ETYFish); kistnasamyi: In honor of Nat Kistnasamy (b. 1938), Oceanographic Research Institute (Durban, South Africa), for “outstanding efforts and pioneering work” in the systematics and taxonomy of the chondrichthyan fauna of southern Africa (See ETYFish).
