Etymology: Allenbatrachus: Composed from Jerry Allen an Australian taxonomist + Greek, batrachos = frog (Ref. 45335); meridionalis: Name from Latin adjective 'meridionalis' meaning southern, referring to its being the southernmost known species of the genus.
