Diagnosis: snout longer than half the head length (southern Nigeria and Cameroon); body depth 5.25-7x and head length 2.8-3x SL; head 3.75-4.85x longer than wide; snout more than half of head length (53-58%); scale formula 11.5-13.5/95-100/11-13 (Ref. 2936, 86396). 92-104 (Ref. 81638) or 95-100 (Ref. 2936, 86396) lateral line scales.
Body shape (shape guide): elongated; Cross section: compressed.
體高 5.25-7 x, 頭長 2.8-3 x SL。 頭部 3.75-4.85 倍於寬的。 吻超過一半的頭長 (53-58%). 小鱗片。 側邊與身體下半部銀白色。 上半部，吻與頭部橄欖綠色的。 中動脈側面的條紋深色的從眼到尾鰭的中央部份。 來自在脂鰭水平結合背部中央線的頸部後面的另一個深色條紋而且繼續到尾鰭。 結合後腦部與背鰭基底的後端的第三條背部中央條紋。 在每個葉上尾鰭有 3條深色的斜紋。
