Brownish with dark blotches along back; faint blotches on mid side, the last on caudal base; fins usually spotted (Ref. 2798).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
Adults occur inshore (Ref. 4343). They are found in muddy estuaries and coastal bays (Ref. 4833). They enter lower reaches of freshwater streams (Ref. 2847) and lagoons (Ref. 4343). Adults feed on small fishes, crustaceans and other invertebrates (Ref. 12693).
