Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
Found in landlocked basins. Usually with T. arcticus, with which it possibly interbreeds (Ref. 593). Omnivore, occasionally predatory. In autumn and winter it forms large shoals at the entrance of rivers and streams into lakes (Ref. 41072).
