Origin of first dorsal fin from 4-6 scales in front of vertical through tips of ventral fins. Second dorsal fin with I spine and 5-7 rays; anal fin with I spine and 6-7 rays. Midlateral scale count 26-29.
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Inhabits fluviatile and estuarine habitats. Does not appear to school in large numbers nor does it seem to be abundant. Biology unknown (Ref. 9760).
