; آب شيرين موجوداتی که در محدوده وسیعی از آبهای آزاد از نزدیک بستر و یا روی کف بستر، در قسمت های میان آبی تا سطح آب و در برخی گونه ها با قابلیت پرواز، زندگی و تغذیه می کنند.. Subtropical; 25°N - 24°N

خارهاي باله پشتي (کل) : 1; شعاع نرم باله پشتي (کل) : 6 - 7; شعاع نرم باله مخرجي: 13 - 17. Posterior nostril barbels reaching rear edge of eyes, maxillary one nearly reaching pectoral fin, posterior barbels on chin reaching branchial membrane and anterior one short; gill opening large and branchial membrane free; skin naked. Last simple ray of pectoral fin hard and strongly serrated on hind margin; ventral fin nearly reaching anal fin and end of caudal fin lightly concave or truncate.
Body shape (shape guide): elongated; Cross section: compressed.
Live in the rivers and lakes of the plateau on the northern foot of the Nanling Mountains. Carnivorous (Ref. 45563).
