Definition of Term

fully exploited
(English) State when removal of individuals is equal to the number of recruits entering the fishery (deaths = births). In fisheries management this is the point where the population curve is at the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) and any further increase in effort will lead to overfishing. (French) État oĂč le prĂ©lĂšvement des individus est Ă©gal au nombre de recrues intĂ©grant la pĂȘcherie (morts = naissances). Dans la gestion des pĂȘches, c'est le point oĂč la courbe de la population est au rendement maximum soutenable (MSY) et toute augmentation supplĂ©mentaire de l'effort de pĂȘche conduira Ă  la surpĂȘche.
