| Comment | Pastinaca aspera Cuvier, 1816, has been synonymyzed with Raja centroura Mitchill 1815. But the later is a western Atlantic-only species under the genus Bathytoshia; so most likely, the name should be synonymized with Bathytoshia lata (Garman, 1880), present in the East Atlantic including the Mediterranean. And Belon (1551: L1.1 p.85) mentions only French and Italian localities. |
