Comment
Locality Timor Sea, Indonesia (lectotype ZMA 115.242).
Distribution Timor Sea.
Quote First reported by Weber (1913) as Aseraggodes cyaneus Alcock, 1890 (type locality east coast of India) from two specimens collected in the Timor Sea of Indonesia. Chabanaud (1930) realized these are not cyaneus and described them as a new species A. beauforti. Examination of the two syntypes revealed that the smaller specimen (3.72 cm) is A. kaianus (Günther, 1880) and the larger one (4.92 cm) is A. beauforti, ZMA 115.242 is designated as the lectotype.
