| Description |
Korea's ninth longest river, stretching 212.3 km from the remote mountains of North Cholla Province to Kwangyang Bay on the southern coast. The river is famous for its fine sandy bank, hence its nicknames: 'Morae-garam' (Sand River), 'Tagasang' (River with Abundant Sand) and 'Sach' on' (Sand River). The river is relatively narrow and has many exposed rocks along its banks (Ref. 32613). |
