| Description |
The plateau stretches from the Seychelles in the north to Réunion in the south, a distance of around 2,000 km (1,200 mi). With depths varying from 8 to 150 metres (30 to 490 feet), The Mascarene Plateau is a submerged plateau that spans more than 115,000 km2 (44,000 sq mi) of shallow water, with the abyssal plain at its borders situated at a depth of 4,000 metres (13,000 feet). |
