Family:  Batrachoididae (Toadfishes), subfamily: Batrachoidinae
Max. size:  24 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 8 - 25 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: known only from Cozumel Island in Mexico and Belize. Status of threat from Ref. 11858.
Diagnosis:  Pelvic fin all yellow; dorsal, caudal, anal and pectoral fins have yellow margins (Ref. 26938).
Biology:  Occurs mostly in or near rocky caves from 10-15 m depth. Feeds on small fishes, snails and polychaete worms (Ref. 26938).

Threat to humans:  harmless
