Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  6.24 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Altamaha River in Georgia, USA to Escambia River in Alabama, USA; south in Florida, USA to St. Johns and Withlacoochee River drainages.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in spring, spring-fed headwaters and creeks (Ref. 131298). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
