Max. size:  50 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine; depth range - 400 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean: Sargasso Sea; also off Madeira and the African coast between 20°N and 25°N.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs offshore in warm mesopelagic waters (Ref. 6697).
