Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Leuciscinae
Max. size:  7.56 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Israel.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-9; Anal soft rays: 7-8; Vertebrae: 30-32. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: 39-44 longitudinal scale series along the body; 13-17 pored lateral line scales; 20-23 predorsal scales; and 4-5 gill rakers on the lower limb of the first gill arch (with 2-3 rudimentary rakers at the rear) and 30-32 vertebrae (Ref. 138473).
Biology:  This species inhabits slow-moving to fast-flowing streams, among stones and aquatic plants (Ref. 138473).
