Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  12 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: presently known only from Nam Ou, Nam Tha and Nam Youan basins in Mekong, northern Laos.
Diagnosis:  With 14 predorsal scales; dorsal profile almost horizontal in front of dorsal-fin origin; body shallow, depth 25.3-28.8 %SL; caudal peduncle length 16.9-19.4 %SL, depth 10.7-12.6 %SL; a brown stripe along upper and lower margins of caudal fin, rest of fin dusky to very pale yellow (Ref. 36949).
Biology:  Found mainly in small streams, in forest and in shallow water (Ref. 43281).
