Max. size:  55 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia and Oceania: New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 4-4; Anal soft rays: 100-113
Biology:  Found in turbid rivers and swampy lagoons and backwaters. May reach 100 cm TL according to local fishermen.
