Family:  Microdesmidae (Wormfishes), subfamily: Ptereleotrinae
Max. size:  2.22 cm SL (male/unsexed); 2.29 cm SL (female)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 1 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan and Palau.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 12-14; Vertebrae: 26-27. This species differs from its congeners in having three pelvic-fin segmented rays (Ref. 84007).
Biology:  This species forms schools around the bases of rock-islands in coral reef habitats at depths of about 20cm to 1 m (Ref. 84007).
