Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  max.weight: 1,000.0 g
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Zhujiang River in China (Ref. 9671) and Viet Nam (Ref. 44416).
Diagnosis:  Head large; snout conical; lips extremely thick and rolled upward; barbels 2 pairs. Last unbranched ray of dorsal fin strong and serrated on hind edge, with a forward declined spine at the front of dorsal fin; anal fin long, extending to base of caudal fin.
Biology:  Inhabits rivers.
