Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  23 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: upper Green, upper Barren, Cumberland (in Little South Fork and downstream), Duck and lower Tennessee (between Cumberland and Duck Rivers) river drainages in Kentucky and Tennessee, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit clear rocky runs and pools of creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723). Also found in small, clear upland streams with predominantly gravel substrates (Ref. 10294). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
