Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Mobile Bay drainage in Alabama and Mississippi, USA; Yellow Creeks (Tennessee River drainage) in Mississippi; Hatchie River and Skuna River drainages in Tennessee and Mississippi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit shallow sandy runs and pools of creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 3814, 10294). They feed on midge larvae (Ref. 10294). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
