Family:  Stomiidae (Barbeled dragonfishes), subfamily: Melanostomiinae
Max. size:  9.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine
Distribution:  Western Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-16; Anal soft rays: 18-20. Remarks: Distal end of barbel extremely compressed, membranous, with many luminous bodies.
Biology:  Mesopelagic species (Ref. 75154).
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 12 October 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
