Family:  Danionidae (Danios), subfamily: Chedrinae
Max. size:  6.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: limited to Atlantic slope of the Guinean mountain ranges: Konkouré, Moa and Waanje Rivers (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal soft rays: 16-19. Diagnosis: body depth 4.4-5.9x and head length 3.9-5.7x SL; eye diameter 3.0-3.8x head length; scale formula 7.5-8.5/43-46/4.5; 14 scales around caudal peduncle; 8-9 dorsal-fin branched rays; 13-16 anal-fin branched rays; sides plain or with irregular markings; back dark (Ref. 2940, 81282). Description: body elongate, its dorsal profile nearly straight; gill rakers short;D:III,8-9; A:III,13-16; P:15-16; V:8-9 (Ref. 2940, 81282). Colouration: silvery in life, without markings on sides; back greyish (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Biology:  Maximum TL was recorded at 7.6 cm (Ref. 2801). Would replace L. niloticus in the Guinean zone.
