Family:  Catostomidae (Suckers), subfamily: Catostominae
Max. size:  16 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 5 years
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  North America: Roanoke River drainage in Virginia and North Carolina, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky riffles, runs and pools of creeks and small rivers. Often found over sand in slow current (Ref. 5723).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 February 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
