| Diagnosis: |
Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Vertebrae: 39-41. Diagnosed from all other species of the genus in having an elongate projection on fourth ventral neural arc near the first neural postzygoapophysis and a very reduced hooks on all fins and the posterior end of dorsal lobe of the caudal fin (Ref. 83513).

Found in a creek characterized by an average dissolved oxygen of 5-8 mg/l and a relative humidity of 71-100%, conductivity of 301-367 us/cm, surface temperature of 18.5-24.5°C, and pH 5.8-8.0 (Ref. 83513). |
