Environment:  pelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 8.5; dH range: 10 - 15
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Tanganyika.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults roam the open waters of the lake, solitary or in pairs (Ref. 86760). Occasionally found schooling in coastal waters along rocky coasts. Feed on zooplankton (Ref. 6770). Biparental mouthbrooding of the young (Ref. 86760).
