Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: lower Amazon River basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Feeds on worms, crustaceans and insects. Aquarium specimens reach 6.0 cm TL (Ref. 7020).
