Family:  Clinidae (Clinids)
Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 25-28; Dorsal soft rays (total): 2-4; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14-18. Reddish, green or brown in color; dorsal and anal fin membranes with 9 and 6 transparent windows respectively (Ref. 5496). Juveniles reddish with silvery patches on sides (Ref. 5496).
Biology:  Inhabits intertidal pools. Gravid females bloated.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 04 May 2010 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
