Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 7 - 180 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: North Carolina to southern Florida in USA and eastern Gulf of Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 70-83; Anal soft rays: 53-64
Biology:  Occurs usually deeper than 40 m.
