Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  7.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Devils River and San Felipe Creek in Texas, USA.
Diagnosis:  Dionda argentosa is genetically distinct but morphologically indistinguishable from Guadalupe roundnose minnow, D. nigrotaeniata (Ref. 86798).
Biology:  Adults inhabit rocky pools, sometimes runs, of headwaters, creeks, and small rivers. Found among filamentous algae (Ref. 86798). Migratory behaviour is undetermined (Ref. 126106).
