Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Characterized by generally greyish brown color with irregular greenish-brown bars and narrow pale spaces between; large black spots on side , mid-lateral row; head with pink spots; head and body with blue dots; united pelvic fins, presence of frenum; longitudinal scale series 56-65; head without scales; greatest depth of body 4.3 in SL; rounded caudal fin, about equal to head length (Ref. 90102). |

Occurs in shallow lagoons and coastal bays, usually in areas with runoffs (Ref. 48637). Maximum depth reported taken from Ref. 127989. |
