Family:  Cottidae (Sculpins)
Max. size:  9.6 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 5 years
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  North America: occurs only in Pit River system in Shasta and Lassen counties in California, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults occur in vegetated runs and riffles of creeks and small to medium rivers, usually over mud in clear, fairly deep water (1-2 m).
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened (NT); Date assessed: 08 November 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
