Family:  Salmonidae (Salmonids), subfamily: Coregoninae
Max. size:  32.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 8 - 76 m
Distribution:  Europe: Lake Thun, Switzerland.
Diagnosis:  It is a large whitefish characterized by moderate pigmentation on its fins and body. Its flanks above the lateral line display a light to dark greenish-blue hue, with moderate to numerous small pigmented dots on the scales along the flanks and dorsum. The species is deep-bodied, a robust caudal peduncle, a short head, a sub-terminal mouth, and small eyes set within thick, triangular-shaped sockets.
