Max. size:  35 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 450.0 g; max. reported age: 10 years
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Europe: Ireland: Lough Neagh, lower and upper Loughs Erne, Lough Ree and Lough Derg (Ref. 59043).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Lacustrine, in open waters (Ref. 59043). Feeds on bottom invertebrates and on semi-pelagic crustaceans (Mysis relicta), and also on their own eggs (Ref. 6258). Status of threat: Threatened by eutrophication, introductions and warming of lakes. Only remaining abundant population in Lough Neagh (Ref. 59043).
