Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobionellinae
Max. size:  4.8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Oceania: Queensland, Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits small, very shallow, clay-bottomed pools, vegetated with emergent grass tussocks. The pools are fed by artesian mound springs. Diurnal fluctuations in water temperature can be as great as 21°C. Tolerates temperatures between 3° and 39°C. Co-occurs with the Red-finned blue-eye Scaturiginichthys vermeilipinnis another endangered species (Ref. 44894).
