Family:  Tetraodontidae (Puffers), subfamily: Canthigasterinae
Max. size:  9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 21 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Guaymas, Mexico to Panama and the Galapagos Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults hide in shaded, protected recesses in rocky reefs, boulder strewn slopes and along walls (Ref. 5227). Monogamous (Ref. 52884).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 May 2008 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
