Family:  Aulopidae (Aulopus)
Max. size:  40 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 70 - 150 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Ecuador and Peru.
Diagnosis:  Adult males feature elongated filaments on dorsal rays 2-4, which are absent in females. The species has a small head length (29.4-31.4% SL), a narrow bony interorbital width (4.8-5.5% SL), 15 dorsal fin rays and 11 anal fin rays, with a total of 50-51 vertebrae.
