Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Glyphisodontinae
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Senegal to Benin (Ref. 10797), including Cape Verde, Ilheu das Rolas, and São Tomé.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-14; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 13-13
Biology:  Littoral species that inhabit rocky reefs (Ref. 10797). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
